270L Narrow Water Butt with Optional Planter
The Boxy 270L Water Butt is a decorative rainwater storage tank designed for domestic rainwater collection where both storage capacity and appearance are important. Its rectangular form provides a contemporary alternative to conventional round water butts, while the 270-litre capacity offers a useful volume of stored rainwater for garden use.
The tank features a granite-effect finish created from a subtle blend of black, white and grey flecks, which combine to produce the appearance of grey natural stone when viewed at a distance.
An optional planting feature is incorporated beneath the removable lid, allowing the upper section of the tank to be used for planting while retaining access to the water storage tank.
270 Litre Rainwater Storage
With a storage capacity of 270 litres, the Boxy is suitable for collecting rainwater from a roof via a compatible downpipe diverter and storing it for later use around the garden.
Typical applications include:
- Garden and container watering
- Greenhouse watering
- General outdoor cleaning
- Supplementary rainwater storage for domestic gardens
The rectangular design provides a structured, architectural appearance and is particularly suited to installation against walls, fences and other garden boundaries.
Note: the Boxy needs to be positioned at least 7cm away from a vertical surface to allow the sides to flex when filled with water.
Granite-Effect Surface Finish
The Boxy features a decorative granite-effect appearance rather than a conventional smooth plastic finish. Small black, white and grey flecks are incorporated into the surface, visually combining to create an overall grey stone appearance.
This gives the tank a contemporary finish that complements paving, rendered walls, stonework and modern garden landscaping.
Optional Removable Planter
Beneath the removable lid are two removable planting containers, allowing the Boxy to be used as either a standard water butt or as a combined rainwater storage and planting feature.
The containers can be planted with a wide range of suitable plants, including:
- Herbs
- Flowers
- Trailing flowers
The planting containers can also be removed if planting is not required, allowing the Boxy to be used purely as a rainwater storage tank.
This provides greater flexibility than a permanently integrated planter, as the planting section can be changed, maintained or removed independently.
Also great for gardens in areas that flood, as it can be used as a Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) planter in a Rain Garden to help slow the flow of stormwater.

Manufactured from UV-resistant polyethylene, this space-saving water butt will not fade in sunlight and is weather-resistant.
The water butt features a brass ¾” connection point for the screw in metal tap (supplied) and two bottom side outlets for draining or connecting to another tank.

Rainwater Diverter
We recommend installing the 3P Filter Collector Universal with your space-saving Water Butt. The Filter Collector connects your Water Butt directly to your Downpipe and also filters the water, removing any debris, before transferring the water into the tank. The Filter Collector is ideal for roof areas up to 90m2 (other filters are available for larger roof areas).
The Filter Kit comes with 30cm hose and associated connection kit. If you need to install the Noblesse further away from your downpipe you can purchase the 3P Filter Collector on its own, then also a Long Link Kit Universal of 1m, 2m, 5m if required (see optional Extras on the Filter Collector Universal page).
Tank to Tank Connection Kit
A Water Butt Linking Kit can be purchased to join two Water Tanks together using the lower 3/4" brass threaded ports.
How to link water tanks together
If you already have a wall tank (or other water butt with a 3/4 inch BSP female threaded connection point near the base of the tank) you can purchase a 3/4" Tank to Tank Connection Kit.

Winter Care Precautions
During extremely cold winters, when daytime temperatures are below zero for several days, it is wise to ensure that the tank is only about 2/3rd's full and the water supply is turned off. This will prevent the frozen water from expanding and damaging the tank.

- Wall fixing bracket and screws.
Delivery
The Water Butt comes with free delivery to UK Mainland addresses (prices to other places are worked out based on your postcode before checkout).
The water tank will arrive on a pallet or in a large box (depending on the size of the water butt and number ordered).
If delivered on a pallet, the courier company will call you to arrange a delivery date convenient to you. The driver will unload the pallet from their vehicle and, where possible, move the pallet to a convenient place for you to unload the tank from the pallet.
