The Modena water butt is a compact, high-quality rainwater storage solution designed for situations where space is limited but performance and reliability are essential. With a 100-litre capacity, it is the smallest unit in our range and is ideal for patios, courtyards, balconies, or smaller domestic installations where a discreet system is required.

Designed in the style of a shallow planter, the Modena offers a low-profile footprint while maintaining full functionality. The square upper tray can be finished with decorative pebbles or planted with shallow-rooted alpines such as sempervivums, allowing the unit to integrate neatly into landscaped areas without compromising access or usability. The depth of the planting shelf is about 3cm.

Rainwater is protected by an integrated, removable basket filter, ensuring efficient debris capture and straightforward maintenance. The unit can be filled from the top or via a side inlet using the Filter Collector Universal (which is also a rainwater diverter, filter and overflow diverter), providing flexibility when connecting to downpipes.

The Modena is finished in anthracite with a subtle fleck and supplied with a chrome-plated metal tap. A ¾" rear drain-down outlet enables frost protection and allows multiple units to be linked where additional storage is required. Manufactured from UV- and weather-resistant, recyclable polyethylene with durable brass threaded connections, the Modena is engineered for long-term outdoor use in rainwater harvesting systems.

Rainwater Diverter

We recommend installing the 3P Filter Collector Universal with your space saving Water Butt. The Filter Collector connects your Water Butt directly to your Downpipe and also filters the water, removing any debris, before transferring the water into the tank. The Filter Collector is ideal for roof areas up to 90m2 (other filters are available for larger roof areas).

The Filter Kit comes with 30cm hose and associated connection kit. If you need to install the Modena further away from your downpipe you can purchase the 3P Filter Collector on it's own then also a Long Link Kit Universal of 1m, 2m, 5m if requried (see option Extras on the Filter Collector Universal page).

Tank to Tank Connection Kit

A Water Butt Linking Kit can be purchased to join two Water Tanks together using the lower 3/4" brass threaded ports.

How to link water tanks together

If you already have a wall tank (or other water butt with a 3/4 inch BSP female threaded connection point near the base of the tank) you can purchase a 3/4" Tank to Tank Connection Kit.

Winter Care Precautions

During extremely cold winters, when daytime temperatures are below zero for several days, it is wise to ensure that the tank is only about 2/3rd's full and the water supply is turned off. This will prevent the frozen water from expanding and damaging the tank.
