Flood Warning System extra low voltage

The RKIT Flood Level Warning Kit provides a visible flashing light and audible alarm, when flood waters are detected by the REKA (capacitive) water sensor. The REKA is only activated when immersed (see last image). It does not react to splashes/dampness.

Early warning is intended to help maximise the time available prior to iminent flooding, so that preventative or damage limiting actions can be taken, such as installing flood defences, activating drainage pump systems, moving vehicles and objects of value etc.

This 24vDC version is intended for marine and portable use and incorporate a 5 second time delay before triggering the alarm, ideal for moving water in bilges and compartments.

The REKA sensor has no moving parts and can be mounted onto any outdoor structure such as an outside wall or steps, or a point near a water course, to provide an early warning of a potential flood event.

The REKA comes with 10m of cable (please contact us for other cable lengths) and works by sensing the capacitance in the water as it surrounds the sensor. In simple terms, it detects the the electrial charge present in the water and trasmits this change to the Display Unit to trigger the alarm. It shoud be noted that the sensor can only be triggered by immersion and will not be triggered for example, by rain or when splashed.

Installation of the 24vdc powered RKIT Display Unit must be supplied by a power source situated above the warning level of the sensor. A green Power-On light remains lit on the Display Unit at all times, indicating that there is a valid power supply.

The REKA component of this flood kit (the liquid level sensor) is waterproof, submersible and works when vertical only. It has pre-drilled holes for wall mounting.
