Description

The Barletta 280L Water Butt is a designer rainwater storage tank combining practical water collection with a distinctive architectural form. Rather than resembling a conventional plastic water butt, the Barletta has been designed as a garden feature, with strong vertical lines and a contemporary fluted finish.

Its slim, upright proportions allow it to sit comfortably alongside modern buildings, rendered walls, patios and landscaped garden spaces. The result is a rainwater storage solution designed not simply to be hidden away, but to form part of the overall outdoor design.

With a capacity of 280 litres, the Barletta provides a substantial volume of stored rainwater while maintaining a relatively compact ground footprint.

Position next to a wall

The Barletta has a distinctly different rear profile. The back incorporates visible structural ribs and bracing formed as part of the rotomoulded construction.

These reinforced structural features provide additional strength and support while keeping the more technical elements neatly out of sight when installed against a wall. This allows the highly decorative front and side profiles to remain the visible feature, while the engineered rear section performs its structural function.

For this reason, the Barletta is designed to be positioned with its reinforced rear face against a suitable wall or solid vertical surface. This creates a purposeful, space-efficient installation and ensures the tank's architectural front remains the focal point.

Designer Architectural Water butt

The defining feature of the Barletta Water Butt is its architectural styling. The tall vertical form and repeated surface detailing create a structured, contemporary appearance more closely associated with modern exterior design than traditional rainwater storage.

The vertical lines help to emphasise the height of the tank and give the surface depth and texture. This makes the Barletta particularly suitable for installations where the appearance of the water butt is an important consideration.

It can complement a range of outdoor environments, including:

  • Contemporary residential properties
  • Architect-designed gardens
  • Modern patios and terraces
  • Landscaped courtyards
  • Rendered or masonry walls
  • Areas where conventional water butts would be visually intrusive

Optional Extras

Rainwater/Downpipe Diverter

The Barletta Water Butt is an enclosed tank and is therefore suited to connection using a downpipe diverter designed for sealed water butts.

The optional 3P Filter Collector with Push-Fit Connector Kit (for Sealed Tanks) provides a combined rainwater collection, filtration and overflow solution. Unlike conventional tank connectors that require access inside the tank to secure a backnut, the push-fit connector is designed for installation from the outside of the tank.

A hole is drilled into the tank using the holesaw supplied with the Filter Kit, after which the specially designed grommet is inserted to create a secure and watertight connection. This makes it possible to connect the enclosed tank to the 3P Filter Collector without requiring internal access.

Tank to Tank Connection Kit

A Water Butt Linking Kit can be purchased to join two Water Tanks together using the lower 3/4" brass threaded port.

How to link water tanks together

If you already have a wall tank or water butt with a 3/4 inch BSP female threaded connection point near the base of the tank, you can connect them together with our 3/4" Tank to Tank Connection Kit.

Winter Care Precautions

During extremely cold winters, when daytime temperatures are below zero for several days, it is wise to ensure that the tank is only about 2/3rd's full and the water supply is turned off. This will prevent the frozen water from expanding and damaging the tank.
