Leaf Separator Compact for Standard UK Square or Round Downpipes
This Leaf Separator Compact from 3P Technik removes leaves and other debris from water passing down the downpipe, preventing them from entering the subsequent waterbutt or drainage system.
It fits downpipes of 68mm to 90mm round (diameter) and 65mm square downpipes. (Most UK plastic downpipes are 68mm round or 65mm square). For larger 4" (100mm) round and 75mm square downpipes please see the Leaf Separator Filter.
The Leaf Separator Compact is available in Black or White.
The Leaf Separator Compacts diagonal filter removes leaves, moss, twigs and other debris from the water as it passes down the downpipe and ejects them to the side, allowing cleaned water to continue down the guttering.
This device is popular where people want to filter out leaves, moss, twigs and other larger particles before soakaways, underground pipework, drains to guard against blockages. It can also be installed before waterbutts that are fed directly into the top of the water butt from a downpipe (e.g. some Wall Mounted Waterbutts have this feature), in order to prevent sludge from building up at the bottom of the tank.
Fitting: Once cut, the downpipe simply slots into the Leaf Separator top and bottom. (Note that downpipe brackets may have to be repositioned to accomodate the filter). The included UK adaptor can be fitted to the bottom of the unit to provide a good fit with smaller downpipes. A rubber adaptor is also supplied and can be used in the top of the filter when using with narrower downpipes, to provide a snug fit, but this is not essential.
Note: The UK (bottom) adaptor is round not square. When using the filter with a square downpipe, the bottom adaptor pushes into the square downpipe. There will be small gaps at the corners but this does not effect the water passing down from the filter.
