Leaf Guard for Square or Round Downpipes
This Leaf Catcher from 3P Technik traps leaves and other debris that have travelled down your downpipe before they enter your waterbutt or drainage system. It comes complete with adapters to suit 65mm square downpipes and 68mm, 80mm and 100mm round downpipes.
The downpipe leaf trap is easily installed at a height convenient for leaf removal from time to time - no more standing on ladders to reach the guttering. It collects leaves, moss, twigs and other debris in a small basket.
This device is popular where people want to filter out leaves, moss, twigs and other larger particles before underground pipework and drains to guard against blockages. Can also be installed before waterbutts that are fed from directly into the top of the water butt from the downpipe (like the Wall Mounted Waterbutt), so that sludge doesn't build up at the bottom of the water storage tank.
Once cut, the downpipe simply hangs into the Catcher basket, clipping onto one of the basket's pre-cut positions.
Note: The adaptor is round not square. When using with a square downpipe, the round adaptor simply slots into your square downpipe, there will be gaps in the corners, but that will not effect the water flowing into the downpipe.

Leaf catcher down pipe trap
Just the thing to stop. Me having to get a ladder out to clear a high trap. Works really well and have it at ground level to make clearing trap trivial.

This will stop an older person having to get up ladders in a howling gale to unblock gutters
What can I say, these are great. As a retired person with a back problem getting up ladders at the most inconvenient times, torrential rain and a howling gale, was a bit of an issue. These leaf traps mean that I can discard all those traps up at the roof line that end up blocking the gutters with leaves and needed me to get the ladders out. So there we go, so far so good as now I have done all the house. Make sure you put extra downpipe clips to hold all the assembly together though.

Catches the moss and leaves while still allowing the flow. Good prompt delivery too.

Just what I needed
After trying various ways of dealing with leaf-fall in one part of the gutters around my garage, I now have the perfect solution. This trap allows the leaves to wash down and be collected every 2-3 days. Saves me getting out my step-ladder to do the same at the top of the down-pipe, Other designs are out there but seem to be more expensive. Excellent build quality and clever design.

Simple but effective.
The ordering of this leaf trap is straight forward and delivery was prompt. The fitting was simple requiring only a section of down pipe to be cut off and an additional support bracket. It has been installed at a height suitable for me, so there us no more bending or grubbing around drains and takes to remove the leaves and any other debris.

Very effective
We installed these at ground level where they are inconspicuous and easy to empty. Having taken out the cages that trap leaves at high level (where they eventually turn to sludge) they now flow down to be disposed of. Ideal for situations like ours where downpipes flow direct into a soakaway that could get blinded in time. Fitting just involved removing the bottom 15cm of pipe.
