Product Description
The 3P Technik range of Commercial Rainwater Harvesting Filters is designed for larger roof areas (over 1000m2 to 3000m2). Perfect for schools, supermarkets, retail parks, logisitic parks and warehouses where the cleaned rainwater can be used for non-potable purposes such as vehicle washdown and toilet flushing.
Constructed from stainless steel, these Volume Filters feature a two-step cleaning process that provides a high level of filtering efficiency, regardless of the flow rate. Thanks to the steep inclination of the filter cartridge, dirt is continuously washed away into the sewer. The sewer connection is located within the shaft, allowing debris to fall to the bottom of the shaft and be washed away during the next heavy rainfall.
These Commercial Rainwater Harvesting Filters harvest over 90% of the rainfall from the connected area and near 100% for rainfall intensities up to 9mm per hour.
These filters can also be fitted with a bypass which allows a slightly larger connection area. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
How the 3P Volume Filters work
(numbers relate to the annotated graphic above)
- As water arrives the level builds up and flows evenly across the whole width of the filter cascade.
- The largest dirt particles flow over the primary filter and fall to the bottom of the shaft.
- Pre filtered water then flows over the secondary mesh filter. Due to the innovative structure of the 3P sieve mesh, any dirt is washed directly to waste that means the filter is highly self cleaning and low maintenance. Debris cannot sit on 3P Filters.
- The cleaned water is collected in the lower internal sump and flows to storage through the outlet.
- Dirt goes to the sewer through the sewer outlet from the chamber.
Note: There is a height difference of 320mm between the inlet and outlet of all versions of the Volume Filters.
Maintenance
The filter has to be cleaned periodically depending on the contamination. We recommend 1-2 times per year.
Installation
VF Filters are installed in a pilot shaft before the storage tank. The VF2 filter fits in 1m concrete manhole. Standard concrete shafts (rings) or similar load-bearing chambers can be used for that size filter and the others
